To develop and strengthen capacity, ownership of school, participation in the schools and educational process and Ensuring Children’s Right to Free, Compulsory and Quality Education, thoughts and action among the different stakeholders within community for strengthening and improving Public Education System we organized meetings with various stakeholders discussing and focusing upon primary education and status of the schools under intervention.

Making of TLM (Teacher Learning Material) by the Community.
To create understanding on activity based learning, ownership on school and active participation Dooars Jagron arranged 2 sessions on making of TLMs (Teachers Learning Material) by the community people. Teachers Learning Material (TLM) making by the community, student group of Dooars Jagron, local tution teacher, guardians of Learning support center.

The COVID-19 preventive lockdown.
The COVID-19 preventive lockdown has changed the life of every individual of Dooars area. While the lockdown is worthy and very much required to fight against the pandemic, it has also lead to numerous problems, especially for the underprivileged section of the tea gardens who lives in a ‘hand to mouth’ situation throughout the year. Children belonging to the economically weaker section of the tea garden have become susceptible to trafficking, labour and exploitation due to financial crisis. Migrant workers have lost their jobs and are struggling to arrange two times food for themselves and their families. These are the real challenges for us. In this circumstances Dooars Jagron is doing several activities including relief work and campaigns, to help those as per the need towards making the world a better place for their children.
The organization was started in November 2003 as a direct, spontaneous response to the starvation deaths in the tea plantations. However, all the founding members of the organization have been involved in political and social work in this area for a while...
